We are deeply aware of our social responsibility for environmental pollutants generated from ships, and continue to switch to eco-friendly ships and install desulfurization devices. In addition, we are actively participating in renewable energy business and recycling projects, laying the foundation for an eco-friendly company.
Namsung Group will design a healthy corporate culture through ESG management, and will continue to form a consensus with employees, partners, and customers so as not to be shaken by social change factors in the future.

Environment
Namsung Group is constantly expanding its eco-friendly strategy. While it is replacing ships that emit a lot of carbon with eco-friendly ships, all the executives and employees are participating in eco-friendly activities with awareness of greenhouse gas and waste emissions on land.
Namsung Group calculates and manages end-to-end carbon emissions to reduce carbon emissions throughout logistics and takes responsibility for pollutants that are generated despite such efforts and actively participates in renewable energy and resource recycling projects.
- Introduction of eco-friendly ships
- We actively participated in the Korea Ocean Business Corporations eco-friendly ship conversion project and replaced 5 old ships with eco-friendly ones. We increased the tonnage by 47% by providing eco-friendly ships with the latest technology, while also providing high-quality maritime transportation services to our customers by operating low-age ships

We secure a solid fleet through high utilization of our own ships, and since 1983, we have placed orders for ships only through domestic shipyards and domestic finance, and promote joint growth with the domestic shipbuilding industry by expanding employment with small and medium-sized equipment and materials companies and local communities.
- Calculation of End-to-End Carbon Emissions
- Through business agreements with ValuelinkU, a shipping and logistics platform, Samyoung Logistics, a comprehensive logistics service company, and the International Logistics Department of Chung-Ang University, which is the cradle of nurturing logistics talent, we study carbon emission calculation issues across cargo transportation. Namsung Shipping, which is in charge of calculating carbon emissions in the maritime transportation sector, is a member of Clean Cargo* and has a reliable marine transportation carbon emission calculation system.
- Through such industry-academia cooperation, Namsung Group strengthens ESG management from various perspectives and is constantly thinking about ways to respond to environmental problems in line with the growth of the logistics industry.
- * Clean Cargo(Smart Freight Center), an international non-profit organization that supports the decarbonization of containerized sea freight transportation, has a carbon emission calculation system recognized within the global industry.
- Active Participation in Eco-friendly Projects
- In preparation for the carbon emission trading system to be expanded in the future, Namsung Group is actively participating in renewable energy power generation and resource circulation projects. Even beyond the scope of the existing business area, we continue to work closely with our partners with a deep interest in eco-friendly businesses.
Society
Namsung Shipping is a shipping company that has received a Grade A certification as an excellent shipping company from the Korea Ocean Business Corporation, and works tirelessly to provide customized services to Korean domestic shippers. In particular, we are continuing to provide generous support to small and medium-sized shippers and NGOs that have difficulties in booking freight spaces.
As a shipping and logistics company that grows together with customers, Namsung Group will always do its best to contribute to society and return our core competencies to the society in a positive way.
- Support for Export of Small and Medium-sized Customers
- Namsung Shipping is providing freight spaces to small and medium-sized customer through ValuelinkU, a shipping and logistics platform. In addition, we actively support exportation by urgently deploying temporary special voyages for coexistence with domestic companies suffering from export problems. We actively consider and carry out the development of new service networks and the provision of temporary ships in response to changes in cargo volume and demand for diversification of service networks from domestic import and export customers.
- Free Shipping Support for NGO Groups
- Namsung Shipping supports the transportation of relief goods in Asia by a global NGO specializing in children's rights in Korea free of charge. We share the core assets of Namsung Shipping with the global community to create a world where we can live together so that international relief projects and organization can run smoothly.
- Investment in Social Contribution Projects
- Namsung Group’s core competency, ‘cargo transportation’, does not limited to ocean. We contribute to the environment and society by investing in the transportation of eco-friendly packaging materials and packages, as well as recycling of urban waste.

- Composition of ESG Executive Committee
- We formed the ESG Executive Committee to establish an ESG action plan within the group and to materialize the implementation plan. Namsung Group spurs its ESG management by formalizing the ESG Executive Committee, including internal and external advisory groups.
